In 2021, our church began supporting T. Jay and Audra Sanderson and their family as missionaries to Mexico. They are serving with Avant Ministries. In February of 2021 they visited our church and spoke about the focus of their future ministry: church planting and discipleship to unreached people groups. In May 2022 they graduated from language school in Texas where they lived for about a year. They moved to Amealco, Mexico in July of 2022 and officially began their work as missionaries!! During this time they started a youth group, had various kid's outreach events, led a women's ministry, Bible studies and English classes, created and ran a Ninja Warrior Gym, as well as, built many one on one relationships and shared the gospel with many and led some to the Lord.
After almost three years of fruitful ministry, God gave them an opportunity to move to Cuautlazingo, Puebla, Mexico in March 2025. It is the fourth largest city in Mexico and it's much different from their life in Amealco. They will be doing ministry in a nearby apartment complex in Santo Tomas with Bryan and Lori, other Avant missionaries. The hope is to rent an apartment there for various outreach ministries such as: Bible studies, English classes, and possibly music classes. They also plan to host outreach events similar to a kid's club and are excited about how God is going to use them at Santo Tomas.
